York Rescue Mission Christmas Outreach
Last year the York Rescue Mission was able to put smiles on 900 children's faces at Christmas, and we couldn't do it without you! Your loving generosity helped us provide a backpack filled with items for Christmas (plus a sleeping bag) to less fortunate children and teens in our community.
As the needs have grown during the past year, we are anticipating over 1,200 children for our 2009 Christmas Outreach on December 24th. This outreach could be a great project for your family, church, youth group or business for the holidays so won't you join us to help "Fill the Backpacks" and make this Christmas memorable for many children.
We are in desperate need of New:
Sleeping bags (for children 4-18 years of age)
Backpacks
Toys ($20 limit)
Games
Puzzles
Crayons
Pens/Pencils
Bible Story Books
Devotionals
Hygiene Items
Please put all items in a large Ziplock bag (we must be able to examine all items donated before placing them into a backpack) and you may drop these items off by December 4th to the main Mission located at 367 W Market St.

Christmas Morning at the Mission
On Christmas morning the Mission loves to hand out to our men and women in our programs Christmas stockings. If you, your church group or organization would like to help bring a smile to someone's face this Christmas morning - below are some Stocking Stuffer suggestions:
shampoo
lotion
soap/washcloth
toothbrush/toothpaste
battery alarm clock
flashlight
gum/breath mints/candy
disposable razors
watch
devotional book/pen
Any or all of the items can be purchased inexpensively from places like the Dollar Tree. Again, these are suggested items and a general list.
Please place the items in a Christmas stocking with a Christmas greeting signed by you (first name only). The men and women in the York Rescue Mission's Spiritual Life Recovery Program will be honored you took the time for them.
